5 Unmissable UX Events Happening in 2023

The time has come to decide which 2023 UX events you want to attend.

The time has come to decide which 2023 UX events you want to attend.

Luckily for you, the UX industry has done a fantastic job hosting events and bringing the UX community together in recent years and it’s only getting better. We thought we’d help you out, so you don’t have to sort through a million events to find the ones that work for you – which we know can be really stressful and overwhelming.

While it would be ideal for everyone to have the means to travel around the world to attend events – we know that sometimes it isn’t always do-able so we’ve only included events that are available both in person and virtually. We’ve chosen our top five options to cover all aspects and budgets for your 2023.

Ayda is a research operations platform that automates and streamlines 92% of the tasks typically carried out by researchers - all while staying GDPR compliant and helping you do the same.

UXDX
UXDX is held in three locations, with all three available virtually: UXDXUSA in New York on 16th-18th May, UXDX EMEA in Dublin on 11th-13th October, and UXDX APAC on 14th-16th November, with the location yet to be released. Like Ayda, UXDX believes in building better products by putting the customer at the center of product development. The end goal of UXDX conferences is to help product teams improve how they work to build better products and create happier teams using the latest practices. Virtual tickets start at $199 for UXDX USA. Past speakers include Reddit, Trainline, and Shopify.

User Research London
User Research London is a conference by UX researchers for UX researchers. Located in London – as made obvious by the name – this event virtually combines both a day of workshops and a day-long conference. While the exact dates for the 2023 conference have not been released, it’s definitely worth keeping your eye out for more information on this one! We will update this blog post with the dates once they have been announced. Some past speakers include: Miro, Kate Towsey, and Janelle Ward.

UX Insight
This year’s UX Insight Festival is being held in Breda, the Netherlands and virtually from the 17th-19th of April. UX Insight is the largest UX research community in Europe and this year will be the 7th year they have put on this conference, and it is not one to miss. UX Insight conferences are known to be full of high-quality talks but not without time for networking and high levels of engagement. Are you in UX and looking to bring what you learn at a conference back to work with you? UX Insight is for you. Past speakers include: Lyft, Spotify and Glovo.

UXRConf by Learners
Back for its 6th year, the UXRConf is held in New York and virtually and presented by Learners. Exact dates have not been announced yet but check back here to see when they are. Virtual tickets are available for free – but they do sell out quickly so make sure to get one ASAP! Alternatively, tickets to attend the event start at $1,800 with extras included. UXRConf is a great opportunity to learn from experienced UX researchers if you’re just starting out or even if you’ve been in the field for years. A few past speakers include: Slack, Opendoor and toast.

EPIC2023
Again, the exact dates and location of this conference haven’t been released as of yet, but keep your eyes peeled for when they do because you won’t want to miss it. EPIC is set out a bit differently than the other events mentioned in this list. Last year, the first five days were filled with learning and networking online while the following four were reserved for the actual conference itself. EPIC stands for Ethnographic Praxis in Industry Conference, with a focus on promoting the importance of ethnography to create value in industries, communities, and organizations. A past attendee called it ‘consistently one of the best things in my professional life for over a decade’. Past speakers include: Philips Healthcare, Intel and RMIT.

Honourable mentions: res+ops, Product World, uxcon Vienna, Button.
